Runway to Color Palette: A Minimalist New Year

New Years is in just a few days. With that comes spring cleaning, organizing and throwing away those things that just don’t matter anymore. I love removing things from my decor that are adding clutter instead of adding beauty. A lovely palette that can take your space from too much stuff to being minimalist awesome is black, white and silver. Of course color is the best and can always be introduced but if you are craving a more simple space, this is your color palette! Here’s the look:

Runway to Color Palette: A Stylish Holiday

This holiday season, I have strayed away from the classic red and green color palette and focused on a more modern palette which includes gold, white and a little cream. The reason I am so keen on this color family is because it’s a nice transition into the New Year, and it gives off a more sophisticated vibe. A lot like the ensemble below, this color palette is classic, trendy and full of style. Try this holiday palette in your dining room and your guests will be sure to give some Ooh’s and Aah’s. Here’s the look:

Products: 1. Teapot 2. Flatware 3. Fur Throw 4. Chair 5. Wall Decor 6. Wallpaper 7. Placemats 8. Dining Table  For even more finds inspired by this palette, go here.

Color Inspiration: Jacket.
Folky Gold is a pretty hue to introduce in textiles, wall art and other accessories.

Runway To Color Palette: Green With Envy

When I think of the color green, there are hundreds of tones that come to mind. Mostly because there are so many versions of green available. Forest, emerald, lime and celadon just to name a few. Whatever green that you fancy, try pairing it with silver and white. It gives the green a chance to pop and look stylish and trendy at the same time. I focus a lot on living spaces when I write this column. Today I want to style a bedroom using green, white and silver. Inspired by the skirt seen below, here’s the look:

Products: 1. Bedding 2. Table Lamp 3. Pillow 4. Mirror 5. Rug 6. Pillow  For even more finds inspired by this palette, go here.

Color Inspiration: Skirt.
For a rich green to use in upholstered pieces, bedding, pillows and other accessories, try Garden Grove or Evergreens.

Bonus:
Pair your green with a white like Extra White and silver like Samovar Silver.

Runway To Color Palette: Plum For Fall

One color that doesn’t get the credit it deserves is plum. It can feel like a intimidating color to use in a space. Because it is a vibrant hue, it needs to be paired with neutral tones. When pairing it with neutral tones, it has an easier time showcasing itself. You don’t want to have an over abundance of plum in your space. It’s better to introduce it in small portions. If you choose to use it in a large piece of furniture, don’t introduce it in much more unless it’s a vase or throw pillow. Using a plum wallpaper would be a striking addition to your space and would be a better choice than painting an entire wall plum. The pattern in the wallpaper will break up this color choice and allow it to not feel so overwhelming. Inspired by the outfit below, here’s the look:

Products: 1. Loveseat 2. Pillow 3. Floor Lamp 4. Bookcase  5. Pendant 6. Ottoman 7. Chair  For even more finds inspired by this palette, go here.

Color Inspiration: Dress.
A hue like Grandeur Plum should be used sparingly. Try it one large piece, in wallpaper, accent wood furniture and small accessories.

Bonus:
Neutral colors like Summit Gray, Pure White and Raisin are perfect complimentary colors. If you want to add another vibrant color, try Rainstorm or Red Tomato.

Runway To Color Palette: Crazy For Red

No other color says style and glamor like red. It’s the universal color that adds elegance and sophistication to any space. It can also be a very intimidating color to incorporate. The key for using red is using it sparingly throughout your space. Don’t over use it or you might wind up with a headache. Pairing it with the right colors is also an important detail. I like pairing red with neutral colors and then adding splashes of salmon or even blue to keep it looking modern and fresh. Below we see Julia from Gal Meets Glam pairing her red trench coat with a pair of blue wide leg jeans. It looks effortlessly lovely. To incorporate this in your home, get the look here:

Products: 1. Chair 2. Lamp 3. Throw Blanket 4. Wallpaper  5. Ottoman 6. Pillow 7. Accent Table For even more finds inspired by this palette, go here.

Color Inspiration: Coat.
Use Gypsy Red on an accent wall, in upholstered furniture and in accessories.

Color Inspiration: Scarf and Skirt.
A blue such as Rainstorm can be used in fabrics and patters.

Bonus:
A pretty accent color to incorporate with this red is Coral Bead. Use it in fabrics, accessories and wallpapers. Also, create a neutral backdrop with whites and grays.
